If you have kids or are a kid at heart yourself, chances are that a bag of Goldfish crackers isn't far away. They are a staple for lunches and handy for snacks throughout the day. Yes, I speak from experience. If you have any at home or in your office, double check the bag and the variety because some varieties of this popular cracker are being recalled.

According to the USDA, four varieties of Goldfish crackers are being recalled due to the potential presence of salmonella. According to Pepperidge Farms, the manufacturer of GoldFish crackers, they received notification from a supplier that the whey powder used in some varieties of the crackers could be contaminated with Salmonella.

While there haven't been any reports of illnesses, they are voluntarily recalling these varieties out of an abundance of caution. The varieties impacted are Flavor Blasted Extra Cheddar, Flavor Blasted Sour Cream & Onion, Goldfish Baked with Whole Grain and Xtra Cheddar, and Goldfish Mix Xtra Cheddar & Pretzel.

Consumers who may have purchased these items are being asked not to eat them but instead to return them to the store of purchase for a full refund. If you have any questions or would like more information, call Pepperidge Farms Customer Service at 1-800-679-1791.
