The recall affect almost 800,000 pick up trucks and could be extremely dangerous.

According to WTEN, General Motors is recalling hundreds of thousands of Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks worldwide due to a steering issue.

The just announced recall affects trucks that are from the 2014 models of the respected brands.

The issue on the 2014 trucks is that they can temporarily lose electric power steering assist, especially during low speed turns and if that happens while someone is driving the truck, the driver could lose control of the steering wheel.

About 700,000 of the recalled pick up trucks were sold in the U.S. and GM has said that they will notify owners about the recall.

If you or someone you know has a 2014 Silverado or GMC 1500 Sierra that is affected by the recall, GM has announced that official GM dealers will update the electric power steering software for free once the truck is brought in.
