Having great programs available for the kids in our communities makes a big difference in helping them feel confident and successful, as well as giving them a voice. Funding, however, isn’t always easy to come by, but Ulster County may be able to help with that.

According to the Office of the Ulster County Executive, Mike Hein, the Ulster County Youth Bureau is now accepting request for applications for the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Youth Development grants. While amounts for this year haven’t been determined yet, agencies and municipalities interested in receiving this funding are encouraged to apply. In order to be eligible, agencies must be not-for-profit or community based organizations with federal identification or charities registration numbers.

These monies could help create new programs or keep existing programs going to be able to serve even more kids. The applications must be submitted on-line and are due no later than Friday, February 17. Click here for forms.

Pass the word along to your favorite youth organization.
