Pets, where would we be without them? They are happy to see us when we arrive home at the end of the day, they always listen to our problems without interrupting, and they love us unconditionally. Since we love them back, we do everything we can to take care of them.

If you have a dog, cat, or domestic ferret and they are due for a rabies shot, the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic at the Dutchess County SPCA in Hyde Park on Saturday, May 13 from 8 until noon.

Each pet must be three months or older, with dogs on leashes, and cats and ferrets in carriers. Rabies shots are required by law in New York, for all cats, dogs, and domestic ferrets, by the age of 4 months with re-vaccination to be done on a regular schedule. If owners don't get their animals vaccinated they could be fined up to $200.
