Here's an idea. If we do enough spring like activities maybe our positive energy will bring the spring and warm weather to the Hudson Valley for good.

One way to get those spring vibes out there? Doing some good old fishing.

According to a Facebook post, this weekend the Department of Environmental Conservation is hosting Free Family Fishing Day. On Sunday April 29th from 9am until 1pm at Overlook Park Pond in the Town of LaGrange the family can enjoy a free fishing day, the fishing licencing fee has been waived.

The DEC Catskill Hatchery has stocked the pond with over 400 rainbow trout. For those who don't have any bait have no fear, bait and tackle will be available free of charge as well.

If you're not an experienced fisher there will be DEC Fisheries Staff and members of the Dutchess County Sportsmen Club will be on hand helping those who need it.

The DEC is also offering free fishing clinics throughout New York State and here in the Hudson Valley.
