It's been a tough few weeks for government workers in the United States and around the Hudson Valley.

The government has been shut down for 33 days as of Thursday, January 24th.

Several Hudson Valley organizations and stores have been lending a hand to furloughed government workers who are having a tough time making ends meet due to the shutdown.

The Food Bank of The Hudson Valley is always helping our neighbors in need during the busy holiday season, but really all year around. This time is no different. On Thursday January 24th from 9am until 4pm the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley will be holding a food distribution event for "out of work federal employees."

According to the Food Banks Facebook page no appointment is needed, however if you're going to pick up food all you need is federal ID or a photo of your federal ID.

The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley is located at 195 Hudson Street in Cornwall, New York.
