Did you ever notice that whenever you see a picture in a magazine of a beautiful room it always has some type of flower arrangement in the photo. Or your watching your favorite TV show and there in a corner is a big dramatic bouquet. What is it about a bouquet of fresh flowers that dresses up a room.

Lately I have been binge watching again and I have noticed that flowers are everywhere in TV and movies. Next time your watching your favorite show look for the flowers. So it got me thinking, where are the flowers in my life? I like to think my house has a level of "decorated-ness". But let's face it fresh flowers aren't the most practical decorating technique. Your have to replace them regularly or your home will look like an episode of the Addam's Family, who if you recall always had roses in the house after Morticia cut off the blooms.

I actually know people in the flower industry and one of there biggest sources of constant revenue is the weekly buyer of the fresh bouquet. It never occurred to me. Just like picking up fresh vegetables you could pick up fresh flowers. After all flowers aren't always practical for everyone's budget. They tend to be left for special occasions, anniversaries, birthday and the always popular apology. Unless your Brook Logan on the Bold and the Beautiful chances are there aren't any fresh flowers in your front hallway.

So after thinking about it for a day or two I thought, flowers should be for all the time and they don't have to be expensive. That's when I happened across a special at my local Stop n Shop, 6 roses for $5 and they had "Paty" colors. So ta-da I now have fresh flowers in my living room. Let's see how long I can keep this up. Next week new flowers and a new flower stand - Stay Tuned.
