Fitness for a Cause to Help Hudson Valley Mother Battling Cancer

If there's one thing I have learned over the years it's that the Hudson Valley knows how to come together for a great cause.

We recieved an email from a listener asking if we could spread the word about an fundraising event that's going on this weekend. The event will be helping a former Hudson Valley family in need.

They family wants to keep things private. But they're formally of Red Hook and currently live in Saratoga. The mother of three girls has been diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia called Multiple Myeloma. It a form of blood cancer and  she will be receiving a stem cell transplant.

A relative of the family told us that there will be a Fitness for a Cure fundraiser this Sunday, September 23rd at Miss Becca's Dance Center in LaGrangeville from 1pm until 3pm. There will be raffles and prizes as well as Zumba, Bokwa and Pound fitness classes.

The suggested donation is $25, but any and all donations are welcome. The proceeds will help the family with medical bills, child care and any other expenses
while the mother undergoes treatment.
