Three men, including a corrections officer from Fishkill, have been charged in connection with a number of daytime armored car robberies in the Bronx over the past few months.

The FBI and NYPD worked together to arrest 29-year-old Michael Santiago, a corrections officer at Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill, 34-year-old Kenneth Smith, and 20-year-old Bruce Collazo. All three live in the Bronx.

Federal officials say between August and December of 2015 the trio, along with others who remain at large, participated in gunpoint robberies. On August 24, 2015, December 4, 2015, and December 15, 2015, members of the crew robbed armored car operators of thousands of dollars in cash at gunpoint. The December 15th 2015, robbery led to a shootout on a New York City street.

All three were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. They all also face one count of using or carrying firearms during and in relation to, or possessing firearms in furtherance of, a crime of violence, which firearms were discharged, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, and a mandatory consecutive minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
