FDNY Firefighter Shot Responding to Staten Island Fire

According to Go Heroes, a firefighter was shot when a man barricaded in a Staten Island home's basement opened fire at responding police and firefighters.

Police were at the house to serve a warrant when they saw smoke coming out of the basement and call the Fire department. Once firefighters arrived and put out the fire, a man began shooting from the windows.

One firefighter was being taken to the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg.
