All that snow was good for something.

Thanks to the back to back snow storms, Niko and Orson, the Hudson Valley was hit with quite a significant amount of snow. Now that we're working with at least a 10 inches of snow, Fahnestock Winter Park is open for the 2017 season. According to a press release Fahnestock, which offers 11 miles of machine groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing, will continue operating as long as the weather cooperates.

The Canopus Welcome Center is newly renovated with a ski rental shop, year round restroom facilities and the Acorn Cafe. Newly added to the Acorn Cafe menu, Winter Park Hot Sipping Chocolate which was developed with Rhinebeck chocolatier Oliver Kita. This hot cocoa has a dark chocolate base and is served with pure maple syrup that was tapped in the Hudson Valley Maple Farm that's within Fahnestock Park.
