Some 47 years ago, a Hudson Valley family received news that would change their lives forever. It was news no family wants to hear: their missing relative was found dead.

Unfortunately, for five decades the mystery behind who killed 20-year-old Wappingers native Alice Susan Vrablic hasn't been solved.

However, the cold case is now being opened once again in hopes that investigators can find Vrablic's killer. According to ABC 7 Eyewitness News, Vrablic's sister Anna is not giving up hope and neither is Dutchess County Detective Kate Capalbo and her partner Detective Adam Harris.

Detective Capalbo tells Eyewitness news "Every month there has been something that's kept us going," regarding information on Alice's' case.

Alice Vrablic was working on the night of Aug. 22, 1970 at the Howard Johnson's on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie.

She was then dropped off by a co-worker at the intersection of New Hackensack Road and Route 9 in Wappingers Falls.

Ten days after she went missing, Alice's body was found by her mother.
