View the special collections housed in the Local History Room and speak with our Local History Librarian, Kira Thompson, about the collection and find out how to request access to the collection for your own research.

On display will be a collection of original, 19th-century photographic portraiture taken in Poughkeepsie.

In participation with 4th Annual Poughkeepsie Open Studios, join us at Adriance Memorial Library at 1pm on June 16th to hear photographer Tom Delooza Photography speak about history and a how-to of the wet plate collodion process. The wet plate collodion process was invented by Fredrick Scott Archer, and was the main photographic process of the mid-19th century.

After the talk, we welcome guests to visit the Rotunda Gallery to see an exhibit of Mr. DeLooza’s works, created using this special technique.
