Dierks Bentley Playing Free Show Before 2016 CMA Awards
Dierks Bentley will be up before the sun on the day of the CMA Awards (Nov. 2). He’s going to be performing a free show outside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville as part of Good Morning America’s celebration of the CMAs, which celebrate 50 years in 2016.
Bentley’s concert will air on GMA between 6AM and 8AM, and fans can start filling the streets for the performance at 5th and Broadway at 5:30AM.
Hopefully, Bentley will be able to get some sleep in between his bright and early show and the evening’s festivities, because the artist is up for several awards, including Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year. He says though he would love to win, he genuinely feels honored to even be in the categories, as cheesy as it may sound.
“I’ve been nominated a lot … I love nominations,” Bentley states (quote via the Boot). “I feel like this sounds like a cliche to say, but you get a chance to walk on the stage every night, for 10, 12, 15,000 people — it’s a pretty good award, right there, every night. You have a lot of respect for your peers. It’s awesome to be nominated.”
Bentley will take the stage again — inside the arena, this time — during the ceremony. This year’s 50th anniversary theme is Forever Country, so fans can expect to see some particularly stellar appearances in honor of the history of the genre. Several notable past Entertainers of the Year have already been confirmed, including Reba McEntire, Vince Gill and Alan Jackson.
