City of Poughkeepsie Preps Residents for Snow Emergency
The City of Poughkeepsie is preparing for the storm that is expected to hit the area on Thursday. The city hasn’t declared a snow emergency yet, but they expect they will need to.
Here are some things that residents in the City of Poughkeepsie need to know.
First, garbage pick-up has been cancelled for Thursday February 9, so please don’t put your trash out on the street.
Bus service won’t be running first thing, they expect to start service by Noon on Thursday.
Residents are asked to wait until streets are cleared before cleaning your driveway.
If you live near a fire hydrant, these must be cleared, so fire fighters can get to them. Residents in the City of Poughkeepsie, who live on a snow emergency route are asked to park their vehicles in public parking lots.
If a snow emergency is activated, parking on snow emergency routes is not allowed. The Crannell Street parking lot will be open with free parking during the storm.
