Guns N’ Roses are bringing in one of Nashville’s most respected artists, Chris Stapleton, for their show in Music City on their upcoming reunion tour. The July 9 show is taking place at Nissan Stadium, where Stapleton recently played at CMA Fest.

Stapleton isn’t necessarily a rock-and-roller in the classic sense, but he definitely has all the same elements. His musical talent is off the charts when it comes to songwriting, singing and guitar playing, and his gruff voice and bluesy influence make him one of the most unique and raw artists to have appeared on the country scene in recent years. His album Traveller took the nation by storm after his performance with Justin Timberlake at last year’s CMA Awards, earning him a slew of trophies over the last 12 months, including two Grammys. Apparently, even the guys of Guns N’ Roses took notice.

The rockers announced the "very special guest" in a video on Twitter, along with a few others who will be appearing on their tour: EDM artist Skrillex, Billy Talent and the Cult. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.

Stapleton not only played the CMT Awards and CMA Fest last week, but also Bonnaroo, as he continues to tour around the country this summer. His latest single, “Parachute,” was released in April, a driving, mid-tempo declaration of love. It follows a release of his only music video, “Fire Away,” which raises awareness for suicide prevention and technically was not actually released as a single.
