We've all seen it at the top of our Central Hudson Bills, after the amount due is a space for the Good Neighbor Fund. Simply by giving anything from a dollar to ten dollars, you're helping out others here in the Hudson Valley who are having a hard time making ends meet. I can hear their commercials stating that if you can help, please do, if you need help, please ask.

Earlier this month, Central Hudson's Good Neighbor Fund was recognized by the Salvation Army during the National Energy Utility and Affordability Conference in Denver, Colorado.

This fund, administered by the Salvation Army offices in Newburgh, Beacon, Poughkeepsie, and Kingston, provides last resort grants to help customers who have exhausted all other forms of public and private assistance. It is funded by Central Hudson customers with voluntary contributions when paying their utility bills, and matched by shareholders by up to $50,000 per year.

Central Hudson and the Salvation Army Greater New York Division have been in partnership since 1989, and the Good Neighbor Fund has provided more than $400,000 to nearly 3,000 households from 2012 to 2015.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed, you've helped a lot of families here in the Hudson Valley keep the lights on ad their homes warm.
