While I know that on St. Patrick's Day it is all about wearing green, whether that means shirts, pants, shoes, scarves, head wear, jewelry, bling, or other questionable fashion accessories; or consuming foods that have been turned green for the day, for me it's another kind of green that has always made me smile.

This winter was a little different for us, not much snow for this year. While I am certainly not complaining, normally there's still some snow on the ground, or at least a threat of one last winter hurrah around St. Patrick's Day, so it's often tough to find anything green growing in your yard. This year, however, is another story.

From the time the first bits of green start to poke their heads up out of the ground to when the flowers finally bloom, I love every step of the way to spring. I love the changing of the seasons.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, and here's to lots of green in your pocket and in your yard!
