Today, I had a chance to broadcast live from the New York State Solar Farm showroom in Modena for the New York State Solar Farm Solar Festival. They had a petting zoo, bouncy house, food trucks, and even a solar powered ice cream truck.

While I was there, I asked a lot of questions about solar power. While I know we've all seen solar panels on roofs, even solar farms with hundreds of panels on posts in the ground, how does it really work? What happens if you have a week of cloudy weather or even snow and ice? How does the power generated by these panels get converted so you can actually use it?

I asked those questions and many more. Anthony Sicari, Jr. was my guide into the world of solar power and answered every question I had, plus did a pretty amazing demo with their solar panels. You'll see the demo towards the end of this video, I was really shocked.

I always like learning new things, and that certainly happened today. They are a family-owned and operated company and they are local, which is really important. It's pretty amazing technology and everyone there was really friendly and helpful. I just have to figure out how to get the solar powered ice cream truck to make a weekly stop at our building.
