Ashley Monroe and John Danks Welcome Baby Boy

Ashley Monroe's baby boy is here! On Friday (Aug. 4), the singer shared that her first child, a son, had arrived.

Monroe's son's name is Dalton William Danks. A collection of Instagram photos posted by Monroe on Friday morning show the baby sleeping; with his father, Monroe's husband John Danks, at the hospital; and snuggled up with his parents. Monroe did not share his birthday or other details.

"Welcome to the world, love of my life," Monroe writes on Instagram.

Monroe revealed that she and her husband were expecting a baby on Christmas Day (Dec. 25). In March, she shared that the baby would be a boy.

Monroe and Danks wed in October of 2013, after meeting through a mutual friend following one of Monroe’s concerts, in Chicago, Ill., in 2011. He is a professional baseball player, who is currently a free agent.

Monroe last released new music in 2015. That year, her sophomore album, The Blade, came out in July. According to Monroe's Pistol Annies bandmate Miranda Lambert, new music from the trio -- which also includes Angaleena Presley -- is coming in 2018.
