Netflix is having a great start to the New Year.

First Birdbox and now a show that is a bit more useful. Over the last few days "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" has been gaining traction on the popular streaming site. The show is hosted by  "professional organizer" Marie Kondo.

If I was a betting woman I'd be that if you open up Netflix right now  Tidying Up would show up in the "What's Trending" tab.

Part of my vacation I spend organizing my apartment and getting rid of all the clutter. I built a bar cart and book shelf (both reasonably priced from Christmas Tree Shop!) to have places to put things that were just in the way.

My apartment feels 10 times bigger because of it.

If you're looking to do a little organizing in 2019 Kondo has a few steps to make it easy for you. She shared them with news.com.au and I found a few that made it easier for me:

Declutter in a specific order- Start with your clothes and work your way to the more important stuff like paper work and sentimental items. I'm known for keeping birthday cards because of their sentimental nature, but sometimes you just have to weed out the unnecessary but give it time.

Everything has a place-  Dedicate spots around you home for your things. Kondo suggests there is a specific place for all of your items. It makes it easier when you're looking for something or putting things back. You know where it belongs. (It's exactly why I got a book shelf and a bar cart!)
