A health and wellness retailer in the Hudson Valley announced 200 locations will close.

GNC announced on Thursday, April 26, 2018, that it will be closing roughly to 200 locations nationwide. According to CNBC, the retailer posted first-quarter reports that were higher than expected, but still not high enough.

GNC, whose motto is 'Live Well', is a retailer of vitamins, supplements, and protein-related products. There are GNC locations across the Hudson Valley, including Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Middletown, and Hopewell Junction.

The news of GNC closing hundreds of locations comes shortly after Subway announced it would close 500 locations. BonTon, with one Hudson Valley location, also revealed the plan to close every location. Toys R Us is in the middle of their liquidation sale, and after that, they will then close every location. However, one Hudson Valley Toys R Us has already closed.

From the looks of it, the world of online shopping is killing our local retailers one by one.
