Another heat advisory has been issued for the Hudson Valley for the day on Thursday.  It will run from 12pm to 8pm.  Good news, there is a break from this oppressive heat and humidity.  There will be a strong cold front that moves through the Hudson Valley, this will touch off showers and thunderstorms.  That front will also bring with it much cooler temperatures and lower humidity.

Saturday and Sunday, look like great days.  Mild temperatures, lower humidity and plenty of sunshine.  Thursday turns out to be a pretty good day, with some scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon, but by evening we see a great risk of storms, with some heavy rain expected.  This will be our weather pattern on Friday, showers and thunderstorms with some heavy rain.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Thursday:  Partly sunny and hot, high 91.  Heat index values as high as 99.  A slight chance of afternoon shower or thunderstorm.  Heat Advisory from 12p to 8pm.

Friday:  Showers and thunderstorms, high near 83.
