Amazon’s New Headquarters Might Actually Be in the Hudson Valley After All

A few days ago, I wrote a piece for this site titled "Why Amazon's New Headquarters Should Be Built In The Hudson Valley." It was a great article, A+ stuff. And it seems like somebody read that article and took my advice, because a Hudson Valley town has officially thrown their hat into the ring along with all the other cities looking to be Amazon's new location. 

Ramapo in Rockland County is the town that has approached Amazon. In a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Ramapo supervisor Yitzchock Ullman suggested the company could occupy the currently empty site that used to house Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Tilcon Quarry.

Amazon has promised a $5 billion investment in whatever town they move to and about 50,000 new jobs over the next several years to go along with it. That would be pretty huge for the town of Ramapo, which is now in contention alongside several much larger cities like Boston and Chicago. But Ullman believes there would be several benefits to the company if they moved here, and the town would benefit, too. Seems like a win-win.
