Thanks to Hudson Valley Weather for the heads up!

Apparently, there's a crazy huge solar storm slamming into the Earth tonight and, for the first time in a long time, the Hudson Valley has a terrific chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

A good friend of mine recently went on her honeymoon to Iceland, and managed to catch them there. I've wanted to see them forever, and you can bet your sweet bippy I'll be up late into the night, hunting out a spot in the HV that has the least amount of light pollution I can find. If you need help finding a spot with less light pollution, check out Dark Site Finder. A good rule of thumb is head West/North.

If you guys can get out and manage to get a glimpse of the light show, do your best to get us some photos!

Apparently, there's also a page set up for space weather. Which looks as cool as it sounds.
