Accident in Poughkeepsie Sends One to Hospital

An accident Monday morning at the intersection of Violet Avenue and Pendell Road in Poughkeepsie sent one to the hospital.

Around 9:00 a.m. Monday morning a Scion traveling on Violet Avenue and a Ford turning onto Pendell Road in Poughkeepsie collided nearly head-on. Emergency officials tell Hudson Valley Post there is confusion as to who had the right of way.

Both vehicles airbags deployed during the crash. Officials say one driver is being sent to the hospital as a precaution with minor injuries. The other driver is signing off that they are ok. Parts of both roads were blocked off following the crash, but neither road was closed.

One driver was male the other female. Their names are not being released.
