This is another example of dog's being mans best friend.

There's a guy in Australia named Wayne Best who spends most of the year out in the wilderness, living off the land with his three-and-a-half-year-old dog Choco.

According to the Carins Post, back on July 31st, they were out hunting wild pigs next to a river, when a 20-foot CROCODILE lunged out of the water, and pulled Choco under. But about two minutes later, Choco resurfaced and started swimming to shore.

He had nasty bites on his leg and his stomach, and Wayne had to get him to a vet as soon as possible. But they were in the middle of nowhere, didn't have a car, and Choco could barely walk.

So Wayne spent the next two days carrying him more than 50 MILES. Which wasn't easy, because Choco's a Bull Arab / greyhound mix, and almost as big as a Great Dane. But they did it.

The surgery to save his life cost about $1,700, which Wayne didn't have. But the vet did the surgery anyway, and Choco pulled through.

Then dozens of people who read about it sent in donations and covered the whole thing.
