Saugerties Police Chief Joe Sinagra has announced the arrest of a 60-year-old man from Pennsylvania on felony charges of criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree following a personal injury auto accident last month.

According to Chief Sinagra, Larry W. Grabinski of Efforts, PA was involved in a wreck on Route 212 in Saugerties at 3:20 pm on Nov. 25. Police allege that Grabinski had been operating a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder that had been involved in the wreck. The vehicle had been reported stolen from a location in Monticello, NY. As a result of the crash, Grabinski sustained severe injuries and was airlifted from the scene to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie and subsequently transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Grabinski was discharged from the hospital on Dec. 28 and immediately picked up by awaiting Saugerties Police Detectives. Grabinski was arrested and transported to Saugerties Justice Court where he was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
