In honor of our Veterans this Sunday you can enjoy a 5k run on the latest trail to open in New Paltz. The River to River Trail is already a favorite of bikers, runner and walkers. This coming Sunday you can come out to run and honor men and women who served our country. This is the first annual River-to-Ridge Fall 5K.

Organized by the same group who holds the father's day New Paltz Challenge this fall 5K will hopefully become as popular as the Challenge race in June. The River-to-Ridge 5k that starts at the Springtown Road entrance of the trail will offer runners a chance to check out a great new trail that starts at the side of the Wallkill river at the base of the Village of New Paltz and winds it's way to the base of the Ridge.

This trail offer great terrain, a spectacular view and a nice grade. Under construction this past summer it had its grand opening a few weeks back and ever since it has become a destination for outdoor running and biking enthusiast. Easy to find as you head out of the Village of New Paltz towards the Gunks, the trail is a great early or late path to travel for light exercise or a daily workout.
