3 teenagers from Saugerties, who live together, were arrested for gang assault and more after allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old victim.

Thomas D. Murray, 17, 16-year-old Angel J. Stokes, and 18-year-old Shaquan E. Stokes, all of the 156 West Bridge Street in the Village of Saugerties were charged with 1st-degree gang assault, a class B felony, and 4th-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.

According to police, On Friday just after 2:15 a.m., a brick was thrown through a window at 28 MacDonald Street in the Village of Saugerties. One of the occupants of the apartment, a 20-year-old male, went outside to investigate.

After exiting his apartment, the 3 suspects allegedly assaulted the unnamed victim and stabbed him multiple times in the torso.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics from DIAZ Ambulance and transported to the Health Alliance Hospital – Broadway Campus where he underwent emergency surgery for injuries to his spleen, stomach and intestines. He is currently admitted to the ICU and listed in stable condition.

All 3 suspects were arraigned at the Village of Saugerties Court and all remanded to Ulster County Jail with no bail.

Saugerties Police are continuing their investigation and additional charges/arrests are pending.

Saugerties Police were assisted in the investigation by members from the NYSP, Ulster Sheriff’s Office and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
