The course is open to anyone 13 years of age and older and space is limited.

If you have a farm and kids that may be working on the farm this year remember that any child between the ages of 14 to 19 that is going to be operating farm tractors and equipment must get a US Department of Labor Certificate of Training.

The folks over at the 4-H Youth Development Program are once again offering a tractor safety certification program for kids 13 and older.

This year there will be a lot of dates for children to take the course. Space is limited to the first 20 paid registrants, on a first paid, first served basis.

Here are the available dates for this year, according to the Ulster County Cornell Cooperative Extension.

If you would like to sign your child up for this course, all you need to do is fill out two forms. First the 4-H Youth Enrollment Form and the Tractor Safety Acknowledgement of Risk Form.

Once those forms are completed you must return them to the 4-H office in person or by mail at 232 Plaza Road, Kingston, NY 12401 no later than 1 week before the start of the program.

The program will cost $40 for already enrolled 4-H members and $50 for non-4-H members.
