A two-year-old was killed in a Black Friday fire in the Hudson Valley. His mother is fighting for her life. Over 20 were injured.

The fire began around 4:15 a.m. on Friday inside a home on Coach Lane in the Town of Newburgh. At the time of the fire, 16 people were inside the home, reports NBC. It's unclear if they all live at the home or gathered for Thanksgiving.

Neighbors helped firefighters during the rescue efforts. All 16 people, including the 2-year-old boy and his mother, were rushed to a hospital. The boy later died. His mother is listed in critical condition.

As of this writing, their names haven't been released. We will continue to update this story when more information becomes available.

Over 20, including three police officers and three firefighters were injured, according to NBC. The six first responders injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, though officials say the fire is not suspicious.
