Two burgers from the Hudson Valley were named one of the top 10 burgers in New York.

The New York Beef Council has a goal of finding the best burger in New York State. After over 400 burgers were nominated the New York Beef Council announced the Top 10 New York Burgers.

The Top 10 burgers in New York are:

  • Ale & Angus Pub, Syracuse, “Power Play Burger”
  •  Blarney Stone, Syracuse, “Blarney Burger”
  •  Crazy Otto’s Empire, Herkimer, “Loose Caboose”
  •  Dino’s House of Burgers, Oswego, “The Dino Burger”
  •  The Grill at the Dome, Tonawanda, “Stuffed Banana Pepper Burger”
  • Madison Bistro, Wampsville. “Elvis Burger”
  •  Millbrook Café, Millbrook, “Walbridge Farm Burger”
  • Terrapin Restaurant, Rhinebeck, “Hudson Valley Cattle Company Burger”
  •  Uncles Tavern, New York Mills, “Bacon Infused Burger”
  •  The Wine Bar at Mirbeau, Skaneateles “Mirbeau Burger”

“New York has over 13,500 beef and dairy producers and this contest is a great way to celebrate the beef they produce and the impact they have on New York’s economy,” New York Beef Council Executive Director Jean O’Toole said.

To qualify, the burger must be a 100% beef patty or patties. Burgers may include any combination of condiments, sauces, spices, bun, cheese or toppings.

Two burgers from Dutchess County made the list. The "Walbridge Farm Burger" from Millbrook Cafe and the Terrapin Restaurant's "NY Hudson Valley Cattle Company Burger."

The "Walbridge Farm Burger" is made with Angus beef from a Millbrook farm. It comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon and your choice of american, cheddar or swiss cheese.

The "NY Hudson Valley Cattle Company Burger" is served on brioche with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise.

You can vote to narrow down the burgers to the Final Four at www.fortheloveofnybeef.com.  The Final Four will then be judged by YELP’s Elite Squad with the winner announced on May 22.
