The 13th Annual First Lieutenant Mark Dooley Veterans Memorial 5K Run/Walk is this Sunday, April 22, from 8:30 am - noon at Thomas Felten Memorial Park on Route 32 in Ardonia.

First Lieutenant Mark H. Dooley, was a native of Wallkill who was assigned to the Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd Infantry Division. He was also a member of the Wilmington's police department for three months before his unit and was called to active duty in Iraq.

Runners and walkers will begin at 9 am and must be checked in by 8:30 am. You can register online. Online registration is $17, day of registration is $20. Continental breakfast will be served at the park and all pre-registrants will receive a race tee shirt. Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group.

All proceeds from this race will support Rotary Community Projects and First Lieutenant Mark Dooley Scholarships to Wallkill and Marlboro High School students. For more information, visit their website or their facebook page.
