A 14-year-old female bicyclist was hit by motor vehicle in the Town of Woodstock.

According to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, The Town of Woodstock Police, New York State Police and Ulster County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a bicyclist struck by a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro at 2:45 p.m. on January 28, 2016.

An investigation revealed that the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, 24-year-old David Myer, 24, of Woodstock, was traveling eastbound on Zena Road when a 14-year-old female bicyclist entered Zena Road from Chestnut Hill Road and crossed into the path of Myer’s vehicle.

The 14-year-old female was transported to Albany Medical Center via helicopter and is now being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the vehicle was uninjured.

No traffic tickets were issued at the scene and the investigation is continuing. Anyone that may have witnessed the accident is encouraged to contact the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office at 845-338-3640.
