10 Sharks Found in Basement of Lagrangeville Home
If you thought sharks weren't found in the Hudson Valley, think again. A home in Lagrangeville had 10 sharks living in a pool in its basement.
Shark Week has been over for a while, but not at a house in Lagrangeville. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation were contacted last month about the shark pool in the Dutchess County home. The News & Advance reports that there were three dead sharks and seven still living in a pool that was 15 feet in diameter.
seven live sandbar sharks, two dead leopard sharks and one dead hammerhead shark.
Officials say all the sharks were 2 feet (0.6 meters) to 4 feet (1.2 meters) long.
These were not cute baby sharks and it's really sad that three of them are dead. There is no word on what was going on here, but it could be speculated that the person with the shark pool was allegedly selling them illegally. Maybe they just wanted wild animals in their house?
There has been no comment by law enforcement about that speculation and the investigation continues. No charges have been filed against the homeowner at this time.
The seven living sharks have been transported to the Long Island Aquarium. It just goes to prove once again, that you never really know what is going on inside the neighbor's home.
